Abstract
The aim of this study is to provide a preliminary assessment of how the economy-wide impacts of the introduction of enhanced oil recovery using CO2 injection (CO2-EOR) and up-stream carbon capture and storage (CCS) activities may be considered using 'multiplier' analyses. Multi-sector multiplier analysis, the simplest form of which is based on the use of input-output models, are commonly conducted particularly at the regional level within the UK to assess potential economy-wide impacts of economic disturbances, industry developments and public spending decisions (including the now regular carbon assessment of the Scottish Budget).
