Fevers of the typhus group in India

Abstract

The members of the typhus group which are widely scattered throughout the world have many features in common, and the Weil-Felix agglutination reaction acts as a unifying link.
The aim of this study is to deal with these fevers occurring in India; but brief notes will also be made to emphasise the similarity of certain features between these and typhus group fevers in other countries.
Because of the importance of the Weil-Felix reaction, this test will be described in more detail than other features.
Twenty three cases investigated by the writer will be reviewed and brief notes given from the case - sheets of three cases.
