New College Library is one of the UK’s foremost theological libraries, but what is the significance of its collections today? New College’s founders were passionate about the value of libraries for the mission of spreading the gospel. The books in the historic collections tell the story of not only of landmarks of religious change but of day to day religious life. Today theological libraries, alongside other libraries, face challenges to their existence. Strong partnerships between church, library and theological teaching are key to sustaining and benefiting from our theological libraries.
