Some studies in the formation of elastic tissue

Abstract

Elastic tissue hyperplasia occurs normally in senile atrophic mammary tissue. It occurs also pathologically in mammary carcinomata, as a local reactive response Of the host's tissues to the tumour growth.It is suggested that a further study of these elastic changes in relation to the site of mammary carcinoma origin and in relation to other suspected precancerous conditions, would be of academical and practical value to our knowledge of the pathogenesis and pathology of mammary carcinoma.
