Material legacy of printed nature in Victorian Scotland

Abstract

In this research, I will show how in the Victorian era, a book is a coherent space for both Scottish nature and culture to co-exist. The featured examples immortalize Scottish nature and culture at once, within the same format, offering a glimpse into the world of commodities and the ecology of the Victorian era.
