Abstract
The role of the military veterinarian in the maintenance of veterinary public health in conventional war, counter insurgency war biological war and nuclear war is reviewed and discussed. It is concluded that his role in counter insurgency war and, initially in biological war, is limited. He has, however, a major role to play in conventional and nuclear war.
