Copyright: The Copyright (International Conventions) Order, 1957

Abstract

This Order applies the main provisions of the Copyright Act, 1956, for the benefit of the countries mentioned in the First Schedule. The countries mentioned in Part I of that Schedule are members of tbe Berne Copyright Union, and those mentioned in Part II are parties to the Universal Copyright Convention: the United Kingdom is a member of the Berne Copyright Union and is a party to the Universal Copyright Convention and the treatment accorded to the countries mentioned is designed to comply with the requirements of both the latest text of the Berne Convention (the" Brussels" Convention) and the Universal Copyright Convention.
